Minitube focuses on a pleasing overall experience, not on having tons of features. Here's what Minitube can do:

Minitube, a native Youtube client for Linux, Windows and Mac OS X which you can use to play (and download) YouTube videos without Flash, has been updated today and the new version is available in the main WebUpd8 PPA for Ubuntu 12.04, 12.10 and 13.04.

The latest Minitube 2.0adds YouTube categories and 'standard feeds': 'Most Popular', 'Featured', etc., country selection for YouTube categories and feeds, related videos, bigger and nicer 16:9 thumbnails as well as some other changes such as:

Musique (previously known as Minitunes) is a Qt music player created by the Minitube developer, Flavio Tordini, which doesn't come with many options but offers an interesting interface which lets you browse your music by album covers or folders, displays Last.fm information and more.
Musique 1.2.1 has been released today, the new version bringing faster scrolling and a speed up in the way the artist photos and album covers are painted on the screen. There's also Ambiance integration for Ubuntu (the toolbar should look better when using the Ambiance theme) and a fix for system language settings detection.
